According to the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006 (FSSAI), no individual or company can operate a food business without a licence. Zomato was founded in 2008 as an Indian restaurant aggregator and food delivery service. Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah formed it. It offers restaurant content, menus, and consumer feedback, as well as food delivery from partner restaurants in select cities. Partner restaurants must receive an FSSAI food safety registry licence in order to be included on the zomato online website. Zomato does not authorize partner restaurants to list in their app until they have an FSSAI licence.


The FSSAI Registration can be split into three categories:
